What is OrganicNet?

What is OrganicNet?

OrganicNet is an online social marketplace that connects organic food producers with consumers in their neighborhood and nearby, and a knowledge sharing platform that offers all relevant information to those who want to learn more about the organic agriculture and farming or wish to start their own business.

Can I register for free?

Yes. OrganicNet is always free for consumers.

How can I register?

The registration process is simple and easy. If you don’t have an account yet, click on the following link: www.organicnet.co/register/

Or you can click on the button Sign up free in the upper right corner on the home page and choose to register as:

  • Producer
  • Buyer
  • Certification body

After you choose a registration type, you will see a registration form where you need to add your name and surname, email address and choose a password, and then click on the button Create account.

If you are registering as a certification body you need to write the name of the company.

We will send you a registration email with an activation link that you need to click on to finish the registration process. After you log in, edit your profile details so you can use OrganicNet in the best way.

Why do I need to register?

You need to register for several reasons:

  • To be able to sell your products
  • To be able to buy organic products
  • To be able to describe your company’s services (certification bodies)
  • To be able to make a direct contact with other users, whether they are producers or buyers
  • To be able to participate in discussions and to ask and answer questions

Why didn’t I receive a registration email?

In case you didn’t receive a registration email, check your SPAM folder, the registration email might have ended there. Mark OrganicNet email as “NOT SPAM” and add our email address to your contacts to solve the problem.

How can I deactivate my account?

A user does not have the option to deactivate his or her account. If you want to deactivate your account, contact us via email and write Account deactivation in the email subject and your address in the email body.

Profile

How can I create a profile?

Once you register, your profile is created. The next step is to add your profile picture and more information about yourself in the section called My story. If you are a producer, describe your household, farm and the farming process.

I have a profile, now what?

If you are a buyer, you can visit the market and order organic foods and products. If you are a producer/seller, you can create your online marketplace and offer your products. All users can take part in the discussions, ask and answer questions, and search for relevant information about organic agriculture and farming.

How can I register?

There are three types of profiles:

  • Producer
  • Buyer
  • Certification body

Producer

A producer profile is his personal online marketplace and food store.

Producers are able to:

  • Add their personal information, location, contact details and certificate, if they own one
  • Create their product list, describe each product and add photographs
  • Set the price themselves
  • Choose delivery options
  • Promote their household, farm and business
  • Share knowledge, information and best practice

Buyer

A buyer profile includes personal information, contact details, rating and recommendations.

The platform enables the buyers to:

  • Find organic products searching by location and delivery areas, food type and subtype, product characteristics (for instance, if it’s free-range, grass-fed, and more), price, the average rating of a producer and basic keyword search.
  • Order a product and agree on the delivery options - the delivery option is set by a producer and accordingly the buyers can either have the products delivered to their home address (by a producer or a courier service) or pick the products themselves on the producer's farm at the set date and time.
  • Comment and evaluate producers rating the value for money, food quality and communication with producer (selecting the grade from 1 to 5).

Certification body

Certification bodies can create two types of profiles depending on the type of membership: Basic and Premium.

A registered and logged in user who is as a certification body with a Basic profile can:

  • Add information about the company: company’s name, logo, accreditation number, the code, the country of registration in and the name of the accreditation institution or body.

A registered and logged in user who is a certification body with a Premium profile can:

  • Add information about the company: company’s name, logo, accreditation number, the code, the registration country, the name of the accreditation institution.
  • Add company’s address, website, phone number, describe the company and its services, add company standards and application form.
  • Receive notifications when someone starts a discussion on a subject of certification to be able to provide relevant information.

How can I edit my profile?

You can simply and easily change information on your profile by clicking on the button Edit. You can change:

  • Information about your location
  • The description of your household if you are a producer
  • Your interests and information about you if you are a buyer
  • Profile picture

To save your changes, click on the button Save and click on the button Cancel if you don’t want to change your information.

I forgot my password, what can I do?

Click on the link Forgot password? and enter the email address you used to register your account, then ask for a new password. We’ll send you an email with information on how to choose the new password.

What notifications will I receive on email and mobile phone?

Every user can choose what notifications to receive on email and mobile phone. Go to Settings and choose when you would want to get notified by selecting ON or OFF button.

Why I don't receive e-mail or SMS notifications?

The first step is to go to Settings to make sure you have activated the option to receive notifications on email and mobile phone. If you’re still not receiving notifications, check the spam/junk folder as sometimes the registration email is incorrectly sent there. To ensure that OrganicNet emails reach your inbox add our email address to your contacts list to make sure you receive all future updates.

Market

What is OrganicNet market?

OrganicNet market is an online marketplace where you can find all organic products and food available for purchasing online.

How can I search the market?

However suits you best. You can search the products by location and delivery areas, date, food type and subtype, food characteristics (for instance, whether the food is certified organic, free-range produced, and more), price, the average rating of the producer and basic keyword search.

What does it mean I can choose products by location?

OrganicNet recommends products based on your location. Once you enter your location, the products listed on the market are those that are available in your location and nearby. You can search for products by any location; simply change the location you have entered the first time and insert a different location. In case there are no products available in and around your preferred location, try to insert a different city.

How can I search products by date or price?

When you want to search products by date, select an option to sort products by date and you will see the newest products on the market. OrganicNet gives you an opportunity to find products that suit your budget. Visit the market and select an option to sort products by price and you will be shown the lowest-price products.

How can I find products by food type?

When you are searching for organic products and food by type, you have the option to choose from one of the 11 categories:

  • Dairy and eggs
  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Meat
  • Fish and seafood
  • Bread, flour, and cereals
  • Mushrooms
  • Oil, fat and vinegar
  • Beverages
  • Honey, jam and desserts
  • Spices

Each of the categories has many subcategories, so you can accurately find a product you want.

What does it mean I can search products by characteristics?

OrganicNet gives you an option to browse organic food and products by their characteristics. Thus, you have the option to find the products on the market that are certified organic, locally grown, free-range and grass-fed.

Free range denotes a method of farming husbandry where the animals can roam freely outdoors.

How to find products from the best-rated producers?

OrganicNet marketplace is based on trust and reputation and the whole process is evaluated according to different criteria and rated with grades from 1 to 5. Thus, the buyer has the option to rate the producer evaluating the value for money, the quality of the food, and communication with a producer while the producers rate the communication with a buyer and punctuality.

How can I search products by delivery areas?

Once you enter the location, the products listed on the market are those that are available in your location and nearby as well as those products that can be delivered in the same location. Insert the name of the city and see the list of products available for purchase and delivery.

How can I contact the seller?

Once you accept the order you can continue communication with the buyer via messages. You will be also shown the buyer’s mobile phone number.

How to sell?

Adding products

Are adding products free?

Yes, adding products are free.

How long will the product be visible on the market?

The product you have added is visible until you delete it from the list in My Stand section. If you are paying for a Promote your product service, your product is promoted for a period of one month.

How can I add a new product?

Click on the button Add product you can find on the My Stand page and follow the steps:

Add basic information about your product:

  • Choose a food category and subcategory
  • Insert the name of the product

The food category and subcategory are mandatory fields.

Describe your product:

When you are describing your product, answer the following questions:

  • Is you product certified organic? If the answer is yes, you have an option to add a certificate.
  • Is it locally grown? (Is it produced near the point of sale and not imported from another country or region?)
  • Is it free range? (Free range denotes a method of farming husbandry where the animals can roam freely outdoors)
  • Specify the type of feeding (grass-fed, grain-fed)
  • Add location of production (product origin, the name of the country and region)
  • Describe your product in details, for example, is it produced in a specific way, why the buyer should choose your product, and similar.
  • Click on the button Next

Upload photographs of your product.

If the product actually looks the way it's portrayed in the photo it’s more likely for a buyer to choose your product. You can add up to 5 photos in .jpeg, .jpg, .png, and .gif formats of a maximum size of 8MB.

Click on the button Next and add your Price.

  • Choose a measurement unit for your product (kilogram, item and liter)
  • Choose currency (Serbian dinar or euro)
  • Set price
  • Click on the button Finish

Why the pictures don’t show even though I added them?

To be accepted the pictures you have uploaded should be in .jpeg, .jpg, .png or .gif formats, the optimal resolution of 540 X 405 pixels and the maximum size of 8MB.

Which currency should I choose?

Opt for an official currency of the country you are trading in. Once you choose the currency, you cannot change it.

How can I find my product?

You can find all your products it the section My Stand. Click on your name in the upper right corner, go to My profile and then click on the option My Stand.

How can I receive email and SMS notifications about the new order?

You can choose to receive notifications if someone orders your product, accepts or denies your offer, suggests a change to an order, or sends you a message. Go to Setting and choose what notification you want to receive.

My Stand

What is My stand?

My Stand is your personal online store where all your products are listed. You can personalize this section by using the name of your farm or household.

How can I add the name of my household/farm?

Click on the green pencil and write the name of your household or farm in the form. Click Save and data are saved.

How can I edit my product?

You can edit your product in two different ways.

Go to My Stand where all your products are listed and click on the button Edit placed below the profile picture of each product.

Go to the page of your single product and click on the button Edit in the upper right corner and then follow the steps.

How can I delete my product?.

You can delete your product in two different ways.

Go to My Stand where all your products are listed and click on the button Delete below the profile picture of each product.

Go to the page of your single product and click on the button Edit in the upper right corner and then follow the steps.

What happens when I remove my product?

When you remove your product, the product is deleted permanently from your product list in the section My Stand and from the Market, and it’s not visible to buyers or available for purchasing.

How can I activate/deactivate my product?

A deactivated product is a product that is only visible to you, thus no longer visible on the market and temporarily removed from your stand. To deactivate/hide the product click on the button Deactivate on a single product page or go to My stand, find the product that you want to deactivate, click Manage and select Deactivate.

How can I remove the product from the order?

To remove the product you no longer have available for purchasing when you receive a new order, click on the button Suggest change, find the product you want to remove and click on X to remove it.

How can I contact the buyer?

Once you accept the order, you can continue communication with the buyer via chat messages. You will also be show a buyer’s mobile phone number.

Product promotion

What is the product promotion service?

Besides advertising your products on the market, there’s a paid product promotion option. Regardless of the published date, the promoted product will be shown at the top of all other products on the market, if it matches the selected search filters and location of course.

Do I need to pay for product promotion?

Yes. You are paying 5 euros for the service of promoting your product for a period of one month.

How can I pay for the product promotion service?

You can pay with a credit card or via bank transfer.

To pay via credit card, click on the button Promote your product, add all necessary information related to your billing information, select Credit card in the payment information and insert card holder’s name, the card number, CVC code and an expiry date, then click on the button Pay. The amount due to pay will be automatically withdrawn from your credit card and a bill is sent to your email.

To pay via bank transfer, select Bank transfer option in the payment information. After submitting your billing information, click Submit and we’ll send you an email containing an invoice and payment instructions. After the payments is processed, your product is promoted.

How long is the product promoted?

The product is promoted from the moment the payment is processed and for a period of 30 days. The information about the end date of the promotion is available on the page of the promoted product.

Place an order

How can I place an order?

The button Order is visible below each product on the market and by clicking on this button the buying process begins. To order the product, follow the next steps:

  • Click on the button Order and choose the amount
  • Click on the button Order once again and choose a delivery option if the producer offered more options (if the producer offers only one delivery option, the option to choose a delivery method will not be displayed)
  • If you choose to have the products delivered to your home address, insert the address where you want the products to be delivered
  • If you choose to pick up the products yourself, you will see the address of the producer
  • Provide the date and time that is convenient for product delivery
  • Write a question for the producer, if you have one,
  • Click on the button Submit order and wait for the producer to accept the order

The process of ordering is not done yet as you are waiting for a seller to accept the order.

How can I order more products at once?

OrganicNet offers you a possibility to order more products from the same producer/seller. Before you click on the button Submit order choose more products by clicking on the button Add. You can review your whole order and can see the total amount due to pay for the order, also, you can remove the products from the list in case you have changed your mind.

How can I remove the product from the order?

If you want to remove the product from the order, click on X. If you want to remove the product after you have ordered, click on the button Suggest change, choose a product you want to remove and click on X.

What happens when I submit an order? Did I buy the product?

No. When you submit an order, the seller receives the message about the new order and can accept or decline the order or suggest a change. You can buy the product after the seller accepts your order, or, in case the seller suggests changes, after you accept the suggested changes, that is, when the order is in the status ACCEPTED.

Can I contact the seller after I order?

Yes. You can communicate via chat messages if the seller accepts the order and you will also be shown a seller’s mobile phone number.

Responding to an order

What does it mean that a seller needs to accept the order?

When you submit an order, the seller is notified and he/she can choose to accept or decline the order or suggest a change. You can buy (pay) the product upon delivery only after your order is in the status ACCEPTED.

When is the order accepted?

The order is accepted once the status of the order is ACCEPTED, and this can happen when:

  • The seller accepts the order once he receives it
  • The seller suggests changes to the order, and the buyer can agree with the proposed changes, decline or suggest new changes. The process of suggesting changes by either the buyer or the seller lasts until both users agree or decline the last proposed change.

You can see the status of each order in the ORDERS section.

What changes can a seller suggest?

The seller can suggest a change if the proposed terms of delivery don’t fit his schedule (date and time) or if there are not enough goods or products in stock, in which case he/she changes the quantity of available products. Each time the seller suggests changes to an order, the buyer is notified and is asked to respond to proposed changes.

What do I do when a seller suggests a change to my order?

When the seller suggests a change, you are notified and the seller is waiting for you to accept a change, decline or suggest a new change (for instance if the delivery time doesn’t suit you). The process of suggesting changes lasts until one of the users accept or decline the last proposed change.

When is the order declined?

The seller can decline the order if there are not enough products in stock or in case he or she cannot agree on the date and time of delivery with the buyer, or for other reasons when the seller doesn’t want to trade with the buyer Read more about ratings and why it is important..

How do I know when the buyer responds to an order?

As soon as the producer/seller responds to your order we’ll send you an email to notify you that your order is either accepted or declined or that the seller suggested changes to your order. You will also see the notification about your order on your profile. To see the status of your orders, go to Orders.

Where can I see the products I have ordered?

You can see the list of all products in the section Orders. You can also see which order is accepted, declined or is in the status of waiting for a response from the seller.

Billing

When do I pay?

You pay directly to the seller or the courier service upon delivery.

Are delivery costs included in the price?

No. If you have chosen the option to have the products delivered to your home, you will directly agree with the seller about the delivery price. In most situations, the buyer pays for the delivery costs, thus, see first whether the seller specified the delivery options, or ask the producer a question before you place an order.

OrganicNet does not deliver food and products on behalf of sellers.

Does OrganicNet charge a transaction fee?

The buyer has no costs towards OrganicNet.

The sellers that have the Basic membership don’t pay any provision.

The sellers with Professional membership pay 3% of the provision once the order is confirmed and accepted, that is, when the status of the order is ACCEPTED.

Certification bodies

Profile editing

What kind of profile is for certification bodies?

Certification bodies have two types of profiles: Basic and Premium. Basic membership is free while the Premium membership is paid on a monthly basis.

What is a Basic profile?

The Basic profile includes basic information about the company such as the name and the logo, accreditation number, the code, the name of the registration country and the name of the institution or the official body that provides the accreditation.

What is a Premium profile?

The Premium profile for certification bodies is providing more detailed information: address, website, phone number, the description of the company and their services, and the option to add documents about company standards and application formular. Certification bodies with Premium membership can participate in discussions related to the subject of certification in the section Discussions.

Discussions

How can certification bodies participate in discussions?

Certification bodies receive notifications each time someone starts a discussion about the subject of certification and can answer the questions to provide relevant answers.

Can certification bodies rate the questions and comment?

Yes, certification bodies can rate questions and answers from other users and leave a comment by clicking on the button Reply.

How can I know if someone commented on the subject of certification?

When other users answer a question, rate or leave a comment related to the topic of certification, certification bodies receive a notification. By clicking on the notification, the user (certification body) will be automatically directed to a page of the question in the section Discussions.

Notifications

Where can I see notifications related to the subject of certification?

The number of unread notifications about users’ activity on Discussions related to the topic of certification will be shown in the upper right corner in the red circle. All unread notifications will be presented with numbers.

How can I receive notifications on email?

Click on the name of your company in the upper right corner and go to Settings, then activate the option to receive notifications on your email by turning the button ON.

Why don’t I receive notifications?

Check your spam folder, maybe the registration mail ended there. Mark OrganicNet email as “NOT SPAM” and add our email address to your contacts list to solve the problem. If you still don't receive notifications, see if you have activated the option.

Ratings

What are ratings?

The whole purchasing process on OrganicNet is based on trust and reputation. We’ve created a rating system that allows users to share their experience, leave a comment and rate each other. Whether you are a buyer or a seller, everyone can be informed easily and simply, see ratings and comments and get an informed decision before ordering a product.

When and how can I rate a user?

OrganicNet only accepts the ratings from users who have successfully completed the ordering process because we believe this is the fairest way for both producers and buyers to be rated, and based on the ratings, easily decide with whom they want to trade.

To rate a user, we’ll send you an email 24 hours after the order is delivered to ask for your experience. Click on the button Add a review and rate the user.

How can I rate a seller?

If you have purchased a product you can rate a buyer, leave your comment and evaluate the process by rating the following categories selecting the grade from 1 to 5:

  • Value of money
  • Quality of food
  • Communication with a seller

How can I rate a buyer?

If you are a seller, you can rate the buyer selecting the grade from 1 to 5 and evaluate:

  • Punctuality
  • Communication with a buyer

Is rating mandatory?

No, but highly desirable as the whole purchasing process on OrganicNet is based on trust and reputation, accordingly, your every mark counts and affects the ratings of both the seller and the buyer.

Membership

I am a producer, what types of memberships are for me?

Memberships are only for users who are offering their products on the platform, everything else offered on OrganicNet is free.

There are two types of membership for producers: Starter and Professional. The Starter membership is free for the first six months or until a producer achieves a total sale of products over 1,000 euros per month in which case the membership is upgraded to Professional and involves a monthly membership fee and a transaction.

The Professional membership consists of a monthly membership fee of 10 euros and a 3% commission on the transaction.

I am a certification body, what types of memberships are for me?

OrganicNet offers two types of membership for certification bodies: Basic and Premium.

The Basic membership is free and provides basic information about the company: the name and the logo, the accreditation number, the code, the country of registration and the name of the accreditation institution or body.

The Premium membership is a monthly paid membership. Apart from the basic information, the Premium membership includes more detailed information such as the address, website, the phone number, the company description and its services, and an option to add company standard documents and application forms.

How do I pay for the membership?

You can pay your membership via credit card or bank transfer.

Go to Membership and click on the button Upgrade to Professional plan, add all necessary information related to your billing information, then select Credit card in the payment information. Insert card holder’s name, the card number, CVC code and an expiry date and click on the button Pay. The amount due to pay will be automatically withdrawn from your credit card each month and the monthly bill will be sent to your email.

To pay via bank transfer, select Bank transfer option in the payment information. After submitting your billing information, we will send you an email containing invoice and payment instructions. You will receive an invoice on a monthly basis until you cancel your membership.

What’s in a monthly bill and where can I see my bills?

A monthly bill for producers consists of a monthly membership fee for the following month and 3% of the provision of confirmed order in the previous month. The monthly bill for certification bodies consists of the monthly membership fee. All information regarding payment and your receipts is in the section Payment where you can see and download your bills.

How to renew my membership?

When you upgrade your membership to Professional, you will receive a monthly bill automatically until you cancel the membership. If you are paying via credit card, the amount due to pay is automatically withdrawn each month. If you are paying via bank transfer, your monthly bill is sent to your email with instructions on how to pay.

What happens if I don’t upgrade or pay my membership?

Once your free membership ends you are automatically offered to upgrade your membership to Professional which you can choose to either upgrade or decline. If you don’t accept, you will no longer have a possibility to continue your Starter membership and to sell your products. The part of your profile (My Stand) will be blocked and your products are no longer visible on the market.

If certification bodies with a Premium membership don’t pay the monthly membership the part of their profile will be blocked until they settle a payment. In the case of outstanding obligations, only the basic information about the company are visible.

How can I cancel the membership?

Go to Membership and click on the option Cancel your membership. You can cancel your membership anytime. We don’t give refunds in case you cancel your membership before the expiry date.

When I cancel my membership, what do I have to pay?

In case you cancel your membership before the expiry date, you are obliged to pay a 3% commission on the transaction of the confirmed order. OrganicNet doesn’t give refunds.

Discussions

What are Discussions?

The Discussions section directs, creates and edits the community of users. Each user can start a relevant discussion by asking and answering questions related to the subjects of organic agriculture, farming, nutrition, legislation, certification and so on.

How can I ask a question or start a discussion?

To start a discussion or ask and answer a question you must be a registered user. Go to the Discussions page, insert your question and select one of the seven categories to further specify the topic. This way other users can easier find your question, answer and participate in the discussion.

How can I find a discussion I am interested in?

You can browse discussions by category, the published date and popularity. You can choose from the following topics:

  • Farming & gardening
  • Organic certification
  • Nutrition & health
  • Cosmetics & beauty
  • Machinery & tools
  • Events
  • Business

When you are browsing the discussions by the date you will be shown the latest discussions. If you are interested in the most popular topic, browse the discussions by popularity, that is, and you will see the discussions that have the highest number of answers.

How can I give my opinion or an answer in a discussion?

If you are logged in, you will have an option to automatically leave an answer. When you write your answer and click Publish, your answer is published. If you are not logged in or registered, by clicking on the button Answer you will be offered to log in or register and then to answer a question.

How can I leave a comment on a discussion?

By clicking on the button Reply you will see a form to insert a comment, and by clicking on the button Submit, your answer is published.

How can I know if someone replied or left a comment to my answer?

When other users answer or reply to your answer, we’ll notify you who left a reply and where. Click on the notification and see your question.

How to vote up an answer I like?

By clicking on the button Upvote you will leave a recommendation to a user who either asked or answered a question. Recommending and upvoting, you are contributing to the credibility of information and the quality of the discussion, and you are also suggesting questions and discussions you believe are important and relevant.

What is Magazine?

Magazine contains helpful information about organic food, recipes, articles on how to store food, advice on nutrition and healthy lifestyle, the latest research in the field of organic agriculture, an interesting information and useful tips, and more.

How can I find an article on a subject I am interested in?

You can search the articles by different categories, the date of publication and popularity. When you select the option to browse articles by the publication date you will be shown the latest articles, and if you select to browse articles by popularity, you will see articles that are the most popular.

How can I leave a comment?

If you want to leave a comment you must be a registered user. Enter your comment, click on the Send button, and your comment is published.

What is Info Center?

Info Center is a knowledge base for producers and those who wish to engage in the organic agriculture.

What information Info Center provides?

Info Center provides all relevant information for producers in one place: helpful articles, interviews, links and documents about the law of organic and local agriculture, the list of certification bodies, advice on how to receive a certificate, news on upcoming events related to the agriculture or promotion of organic farming.

How can I find the content I am interested in?

You can browse the content by selecting some of the suggested filters/categories. Browse content by category, that is the topic of interest. You can browse content from 20 categories:

If you don’t select a category you will see content from all categories.

Browse content by country, for instance, if you want to find EU law on organic agriculture you can select a country that is in the EU and you will see the content related to the selected country.

If you want to browse content by a certain language, you can choose to see content in some of these six languages: Serbian, English, German, Russian, French, Italian.

You can search content by specific keyword or term and if you don’t select any of the filters, you will see the latest content from all categories.

How to find an event I am interested in?

You can browse events by the hosting country. Once you select a country, you will see events organized in that country.

What are the Terms of Use of OrganicNet?
