Organic certification in EU

Published in Legislație, Inspecție și certificare category

Organic food production within the EU is strictly regulated and defined by law and these rules apply to the organic production, to the labelling and control of organic products.

Whether you market organic products or grow organic food and products, being a farmer, food processor or storage provider, you must be registered with an approved organic control body (certification body).

Your products must also be inspected legally and controlled at least once a year to ensure you meet the standards and to be labelled and marketed as ‘organic’.

Here you can find EU regulation and requirements and learn more about the initial steps you need to take to register your farm or business as organic, and those towards inspection and certification.

Once you have decided to go organic and have chosen an approved certification body, learn more about the documents you will need for the certification process.
